Adam Johnson was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana. He grew up playing all sports but excelled at basketball, tennis and track & field; earning All-Conference honors for tennis and track. Two of his high school track records still stand many years later. Having always wanted to be a Purdue Boilermaker, he turned down multiple DIII offers to pole vault and instead walked on to the Purdue track team and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. Entering the corporate world, he found he had a talent for training/teaching people, which eventually became a passion. This skill set brought him to Colorado and led him to being a corporate trainer for nearly 10 years.

He began playing pickleball in 2018. Currently, he is one of the top pickleball players in Colorado and is top 20 in the country for the 40-49 age group. He competes at the 5.0 and pro levels in tournaments all across the country. He loves instructing and sharing his knowledge with others. He feels one of his biggest strengths when teaching is quickly being able to pinpoint "the issue" and the ability to explain the same thing in a variety of ways so everyone can understand in his/her own unique way. He loves playing 70's/80's music during lessons to up the energy and make them more fun.
